The Complete Guide To Narellan Pools’ Installation Process
May 22, 2023

Taking the decision to buy a new swimming pool is a big and exciting step. A swimming pool offers an entirely new and unique space in your home. Thousands of homeowners throughout Canada are discovering the benefits and versatility of pool ownership—fun, relaxation, exercise, entertainment—every single week.

Before you can truly embrace the benefits of pool ownership, however, you need to have a pool installed. One of the most common questions we face from clients is how their swimming pool will be installed. What are the steps involved and how long will the process take? How much disruption will be caused and what sort of access and permits are required?

The good news is that the Narellan Pools’ installation process is fast and easy. From the moment of first contact with one of our dedicated team members, you can take your first dip in a couple of months or less. We aim to make the process as smooth and seamless as possible. We take care of everything for you, from planning to permits. Let’s take a look at the five key steps on your pool installation journey.

Phase 1: Conception and Design

Your journey starts at the conception and design stage. At this point, you will sit down with a consultant from your local Narellan Pools Builder team, to carefully craft the options that will make your dream swimming pool. We won’t move forward until you are happy, so this step can take varying amounts of time depending on how many revisions are required. Once the design is complete, we will also start applying for planning permission and permits required to complete the work.

Phase 2: Site Excavation

Before your swimming pool shell can be delivered and installed, your backyard needs to be prepared. This is the first phase where work begins at your property. The Narellan Pools builders will attend your home and begin preparing your backyard for the shell’s delivery by excavating the site to create the hole where the shell will go.

Phase 3: Shell Installation Phase

The great thing about fiberglass swimming pools is that the pool shell is manufactured off site which allows its construction to take place simultaneously to the other steps in the process. Once the site has been prepared, your shell will be delivered to your property, usually by truck, and installed into the excavated hole.

Phase 4: Structural Beam

Once your fiberglass pool shell has been delivered and installed in your backyard, it’s time to install the final supporting structure. This is the most important part of the installation, barring the design phase, as the structural beam is what supports the shell. Without the structural beam and its supporting structure, your pool shell would flex and break when filled.

Phase 5: Handover

At this stage, your pool installation is complete and you’re very nearly ready to take your first dip. The only thing left to do is for the Narellan Pools team to do the final checks for quality, sign-off on the installation, and perform the official handover where you take ownership of your pool.
